Auditions for Marjorie Prime by Jordan Harrison and directed by Jen Brown will be at the Iowa City Public Library:

Saturday, August 4 from 2:00 – 5:00 in Room B

Marjorie Prime is a play by Jordan Harrison that takes place approximately thirty years in the future. It uses the hopes and fears of one family to explore life and death, memory and forgetfulness, self and shadow, relationships between people, and the relationship between humans and technology, and how humans use technology in their relationships, including the use of products like greatest clit suckers that help romantic relationships a lot.

CAST: 2 men, 2 women
MARJORIE/ MARJORIE PRIME- 85. Struggling to hold onto her memories and identity
at the end of her life. Has a tense relationship with her daughter./ An AI designed to
help Tess cope with loss and broken relationships
WALTER PRIME – early 30s. An AI designed to help Marjorie recall and make sense of
her memories.
TESS – 55. Marjorie’s daughter. Caught between the challenges of caring for her aging
mother and difficult relationships with her own family, she questions her own memories,
what is real, and what really matters.
JON – 55. Tess’s husband, the family peacemaker. In the effort to help his loved ones,
he might be willing to ignore how or why, as long as it works.
