Dreamwell Theatre is thrilled to announce our 27th season!

We will kick off our 2024-2025 season with Myocardium; Graphite, a brand new piece by Eli Campbell, directed by Kayla Adams. Both Eli and Kayla are MFA students at the University of Iowa. Eli and the cast and crew are workshopping the play, collaborating at The ArtiFactory, whose gallery and performance space inspired this piece. Dreamwell Theatre and The Artifactory are partnering on this unique and entertaining experience. The final product will be performed December 6-7 and 13-14 at The Artifactory. The play follows two young women who enroll in a figure drawing class at a community center in Iowa City, only to find they’re getting a lot more than they signed up for.

In February, Will Asmus will direct Noël Coward’s, Design for Living. This comedy follows Gilda, Leo and Otto, three friends working to define their relationships with one another. Can this menage a trois successfully navigate their love for each other? Design for Living plays at The Artifactory February 14-15, and 21-22.

We’ll wrap up our season with The Penelopiad, by Margaret Atwood at The James Theater, March 6-9. Directed by Rachel Korach Howell, The Penelopiad tells the story of Penelope, wife of the famous Odysseus. Penelope, along with her twelve maids, share their side of the story, in a play that examines gender and class in true Atwood fashion.
Stay tuned for information about upcoming auditions for both Design for Living and The Penelopiad.
We want to give a big thank you to our season sponsor, Hills Bank for getting us off to a great start!
