Dreamwell Theatre is seeking a director for one of its plays for the 2013-14 season:

Clybourne Park
by Bruce Norris
(November 15 – 23, 2013)
Clybourne Park explodes in two outrageous acts set fifty years apart. Act One takes place in 1959, as nervous community leaders anxiously try to stop the sale of a home to a black family. Act Two is set in the same house in the present day, as the now predominantly African-American neighborhood battles to hold its ground in the face of gentrification. The play was written in response to Lorraine Hansberry’s play A Raisin in the Sun. It portrays fictional events set before and after the Hansberry play and is loosely based on historical events.

The play is tentatively scheduled to run Nov 15 – 23, 2013 at our performance space in the Unitarian Universalist Society of Iowa City.

Scripts are on reserve for perusal at the Iowa City Public Library and the Coralville Public Library.
If you are interested in directing Clybourne Park, please email chuck@dreamwell.com and include the following information:
1) What is your directing experience or background (if you have not directed for Dreamwell in the past)?
2) Why are you interested in directing the play(s) you’ve selected?

Please note that an e-mail of interest does not guarantee an interview. Submit detail regarding your interest to direct “Clybourne Park” even if you have directed for Dreamwell in the past.
