Dreamwell is collaborating with NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) in Johnson County to present 4.48 Psychosis. They will be involved in talk-backs after each performance and provide informational handouts. As this production includes discussions of suicide, self-harm & trauma, one of their volunteers will be available during performances as needed.

4.48 Psychosis is written by Sarah Kane and directed by Eric Marlin and can be seen Nov. 8, 9, 15 & 16, at 7:30pm, 120 N. Dubuque St. (in the basement of the Wesley Center).

Synopsis: A woman is in a battle with her own mind. She craves understanding. She seeks it from her doctor, her lover, and from the audience watching her. Through fragmentary, nonlinear scenes, 4.4.8 Psychosis excavates the horrors of depression, and presents a radically empathetic portrait of what it means to struggle with suicidal thoughts.
