I've been emailing with Mary Lowder, the audiologist/cochlear programmer at UIHC, and had her fax my audiogram from there to me, so that's where the Aug 20, 2001 lines came from. She's also sent a letter for my primary care physician here in Boulder and my insurance company to justify why I will need implants. Hopefully, my insurance won't balk at the idea of me getting it done at Iowa and not in Colorado. But I doubt it. I think it's going to be a fight. I really want Dr. Gantz to do the surgery and for Mary to do the mapping. They are the best in the country from all the research I've done, and I only want the best.
