It is also meant for the friends and families of these people, to get a better understanding of what it is like to suddenly become deaf.

This is my personal story - I lost hearing in one ear in 1999, and lost the other in 2002 - I now where a digital hearing aid in my left ear and am considering a cochlear implant in the right ear in the future.
