The All in a Day Theatre Festival will happen! The flood forced us to postpone, but we have a new date and hope all of you can make it.

Dreamwell and City Circle have decided to also make this event a fundraiser for flood victims.

Starting ? at 8:00 pm, six local directors, six local authors and a bevy of local actors will converge in Coralville. Directors and Authors will be randomly paired and actors will be randomly assigned to the teams. They will then be given a setting for their play and a genre in which to write the play.
Twenty-four hours later, six new ten minute plays will be performed for the public in Iowa City. One night, one day, six new plays.
Modeled on successful similar experiments in other cities, this is the first time such an event has been attempted in Johnson County.
“We don’t know what to expect,” says Matt Falduto, founding member of Dreamwell Theatre. “We know there is the talent to support this kind of thing, and certainly the enthusiasm, but what comes out we won’t know for sure until the lights come up.”
Vicki Krajewski, who has participated in a similar event in Cedar Rapids last year, likens the experience to a thrill ride. “You just strap on your parachute and jump! I got assigned “Science Fiction” as my genre, which would have been my last choice, but I just figured—go for it! And I was really happy with the result. Having the time pressure makes you cut out all the fat from your writing.”
