Auditions for Dreamwell Theatre's presentation of The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh will be Friday, Aug 1 at 5pm and Saturday, Aug 2nd at 2pm at the the Iowa City Public Library. Scripts will be available on reserve. Performance dates are Sept. 26, 27, Oct, 3, 4 in Iowa City.
Roles are needed for 5 men and 1 woman. This play contains scenes and language that may offend. Due to the graphic and mature nature of the material, roles for a boy and girl have been pre-cast.
The Pillowman is the viciously funny and seriously disturbing tale of a writer in an unnamed totalitarian state who is interrogated about the gruesome content of his short stories and their similarities to a number of child-murders occurring in his town.
