Dreamwell Theatre presents a dramatic reading of Clybourne Park, a play by Bruce Norris directed by Chuck Dufano.
Clybourne Park is a comedy-drama and response to the classic play A Raisin in the Sun. It is the winner of the 2011 Pulitzer Prize and 2012 Tony Award. Act One takes place in 1959 as nervous community leaders attempt to stop the sale of a home to an African-American family. Act Two is set in the same house in present day and the now predominantly African-American neighborhood battles to hold its ground in the face of gentrification. The play is loosely based on historical events in the city of Chicago.
