Dreamwell Theatre is looking for performers, and volunteers for QueertopIA! We’re looking for performers to help us fill the stage with LGBTQ+ voices! Fifty percent of all net profits from this event will go to a local queer organization. All types of acts are welcome. Whether you are an actor, singer, dancer, puppeteer, comedian, storyteller, or artist of your own making, we want to see. and hear you! Ideally, acts should be 5-10 minutes long. Finally another voice said, in far more ordinary tones: Well, I can do next Tuesday.” Josh Sazon is directing Wyrd Sisters, adapted for the stage by Stephen Briggs from the the Discworld novel of the same title, written by Sir Terry Pratchett. Auditions will be held at The Iowa City Public Library, Mtg Room D: Friday June 23, 5-8 pm Saturday June 24, 2-5 pm The show will run October 12-15, 2023 at The James Theater in Iowa City. On Friday, March 24, writers, actors, and directors will meet at the Iowa City Community Theatre and be randomly grouped to create mini-masterpieces within 24 hours, to be rehearsed on Saturday, and performed the evening of March 25 at ICCT. Angel Street Auditions Dreamwell Theatre will hold auditions for Angel Street by Patrick Hamilton, directed by Jen Brown. Auditions will be held at the Iowa City Public Library on Sunday, January 8, 2:00-5:00, and on Monday, January 9, 6:00-9:00. Performances will be held April 14, 15, 21 & 22. Auditioners will be asked to read from sides from the show.
