Auditions for Copenhagen

To round out our current season, we will be producing Michael Frayn’s Tony-winning play, Copenhagen, which is a compelling examination of both the relationship between science and politics and the very nature of truth itself. The play will be directed by Madonna Smith. Auditions will be held this Tuesday and Wednesday from 7-8:30, with callbacks on Thursday night. Auditions will be in the basement of Trinity Episcopal Church, (address 320 E. College St.) The entrance is located in the alley off of Gilbert St. Check our our Facebook event or email joinus@dreamwell.com for more information.

Synopsis:
In 1941, German physicist Werner Heisenberg went to Copenhagen to see his Danish counterpart, Niels Bohr. Together they had revolutionized atomic science in the 1920s, but now they were on opposite sides of a world war. In this incisive drama by the prominent British playwright which premiered at the Royal National Theatre in London and opened to rave reviews on Broadway (ultimately winning the 2000 Tony Award for Best Play), the two men meet in a situation fraught with danger in hopes of discovering why we do what we do.

Cast:
WERNER HEISENBERG – 40s-50s, the German physicist

NIELS BOHR – 40s-50s, Heisenberg’s Danish counterpart

MARGRETHE NORLUND BOHR – 40s, Niels’s wife, an integral part of his life and work.
