Auditions for Wyrd Sisters “In the middle of this elemental storm a fire gleamed … It illuminated three hunched figures. As the cauldron bubbled an eldritch voice shrieked: When shall we three meet again? There was a pause. Finally another voice said, in far more ordinary tones: Well, I can do next Tuesday.” Josh Sazon is directing Wyrd Sisters, adapted for the stage by Stephen Briggs from the the Discworld novel of the same title, written by Sir Terry Pratchett. Auditions will be held at The Iowa City Public Library, Mtg Room D: Friday June 23, 5-8 pm Saturday June 24, 2-5 pm The show will run October 12-15, 2023 at The James Theater in Iowa City. Rehearsals are expected to begin in August. Please bring your calendar. We will be reading from sides provided by the director at auditions. A script is available for a 2 hour check-out period at ICPL’s 2nd Floor Help Desk. There may be some double-casting. All ethnicities and identities are welcome, and encouraged to audition for any role. Synopsis: Terry Pratchett takes Shakespeare’s Macbeth and then turns it up ’till the knob comes off. If you’ve seen any productions in the Iowa City area over the past twenty years or so, then it’s likely you’ve seen the pinkish Chaise Lounge appearing amongst the set pieces. Iowa City Community Theatre, Dreamwell Theatre, Run of the Mill Theatre Productions, Willow Creek Theatre Company, and Riverside Theatre are teaming up to honor this oft featured piece of furniture, inspired by an idea by community theater member, Kristina Rutkowski. On Friday, March 24, writers, actors, and directors will meet at the Iowa City Community Theatre and be randomly grouped to create mini-masterpieces within 24 hours, to be rehearsed on Saturday, and performed the evening of March 25 at ICCT. Each play will incorporate the chaise in some way. Writers are randomly assigned a location, a genre, and one other dramatic detail to include in their scripts. Auditions for Angel Street

Angel Street Auditions Dreamwell Theatre will hold auditions for Angel Street by Patrick Hamilton, directed by Jen Brown. Auditions will be held at the Iowa City Public Library on Sunday, January 8, 2:00-5:00, and on Monday, January 9, 6:00-9:00. Performances will be held April 14, 15, 21 & 22. Auditioners will be asked to read from sides from the show.
