Director’s Note:
This is a play about language and imagination. The cast must be strong storytellers. Overmyer is handing us deliciously challenging words that paint beautiful and surreal images in our minds. We travel through time and space as we explore new ideas and historical artifacts .

Character Breakdown
In Eric Overmyer’s own words – this requires a sense of whimsy and a strong cast. Ages are listed just a suggestion – don’t let that stop you from auditioning for a specific character!

Alex: 20-30
Alex is the youngest. She is the most modern and the most out of place in the Victorian world. She has boundless energy.

Fanny: 30 – 40
Fanny is from the Midwest. She is conservative and has a wry wit.

Mary: 30-60
Mary is the oldest. She is the leader, a passionate scientist (but not dry or academic). She is from Boston but does not have an accent.

Male Actor: 20-40
The male actor must be a shape-shifter as he plays multiple characters include: Alphonse (a cannibal); Grover (Fanny’s Husband); a Troll; Mr. Coffee; Gus; a Yeti; Madame Nhu; and Nicky Paradise. I am looking for a strong actor who can physically and vocally change for each of these different characters.
