Auditions for Dreamwell’s production of Cock will be held at the Iowa City Public Library on Sunday, October 18th from 2-4 p.m. and Monday, October 19th from 7-9 p.m. A copy of the script is available on reserve at the Library information desk.
Auditions will consist primarily of cold readings and a small number of improv exercises. No prepared monologues are necessary.
The performance dates are: April 22, 23, 29, and 30, 2016.
We are holding auditions now because the director lives in California during the winter months.
There will be 3 or 4 cast meetings and discussions between late October and early December. A regular rehearsal schedule will begin around March 17th. (Strangely enough, this production contains NO nudity).

Roles are available for 3 men and one woman, as follows:
John (mid-to-late 20’s) – He is described as a picture drawn in pencil which hasn’t been colored in yet. John has been partnered with M for several years, but has suddenly fallen in love with W. He is hopelessly un-formed as a person, groping for an identity, capable of strong emotions but forever changing his mind.
M (mid-30’s) – A strong character who knows what he wants, still totally in love with John, but beginning to wonder if it’s all worth it. He’s accustomed to dominating the action, but now feels helpless.
W (she tells us she’s 28) – Married at 23, divorced at 25. She’s lonely, and feels she’s met her soul mate in John. Also a strong personality, who is willing to fight to win John away from M.
F (mid 50’s) – Father of M. Very practical, logical, and insightful. He’s doing his best to resolve the issue of whether M or W will win the love
and “ownership” of John.
